RHODENDRON SPECIES BOTANICAL GARDEN PLANT ORDER
Hello existing and prospective new VRS members,
One benefit of being a member of the VRS is that you are an automatic member of the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden (RSBG) in Federal Way, WA, through the VRS membership. However we highly encourage VRS members to visit and consider joining as individual members of the RSBG because of the wonderful work they do, and the spectacular and unique garden that it is. This being said, the RSBG has a plant sale twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. They sell rhododendron and companion plants. This is a spectacular opportunity to purchase plants that you would certainly not be able to find anywhere local. The best part is that we have arranged, through dedicated VRS volunteers and the assistance of the RSBG, a way to clear and transport these plants right here to UBC. Isn't that wonderful?
So here's how it works. First, when the time is right (spring and fall) take a look at the RSBG plant catalog. You can find the most recent catalog here. There is plenty of good information in the catalog, so read through and make your selections. Remember the prices are in USD and note the cutoff dates for international orders that they have in place during these times.
If you wish to order, you can order directly with the RSBG and settle payment with them. You will see on the order form that you will select that this is a Canadian order and is to be picked up at UBC. Also note, a 15% fee will be added to cover processing and phyto etc. If you are not an individual RSBG member with your own membership number then please note on the order form that you are a VRS member.
We kindly ask that you forward a copy of any order made to Tom Nosella in the VRS at email@example.com so we can keep track of numbers of plants for transport.
The order form will note when the order will be ready for pickup at UBC.
You will need to pick up your plants at UBC during the designated time window - no exceptions.
This is an excellent opportunity to purchase and add some new exciting plants to your garden that are sure to be facinating to watch grow and will definitely turn heads.
If you have any questions, please contact Tom Nosella at firstname.lastname@example.org.
